Business Development Manager Europe



Channels are probably the most important source of new business for our client. The Business Development Manager Europe is responsible for developing the distribution strategy for additional channels (both physical- and e-channels) for the European market as well as for delivery of this strategy, thereby setting up collaborations with new type of channels. The Business Development Manager Europe needs to make sure that all elements that are necessary for such new strategy/distribution approach are taken into account, and in that context he/she works closely with colleagues from other departments within the company.  


The ideal candidate has the following profile:  

University degree in Economics, Business Administration, Marketing or Finance;  

At least 6-8 years of relevant work experience in developing and implementing multi-channel strategies (roads-to-market) and distribution business models;  

Has been working with tangible (consumer) products, rather than with services;  

Fluent in English, knowledge of French and/or other European languages is an asset; 

Good understanding of the SME environment as well as of the international context in which our client operates; 

Excellent knowledge of MS Office (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel).

Entrepreneurial and proactive with initiative and creativity to be able to come up with new and original ideas and solutions.  

Autonomous, well-organised, pragmatic and efficient to work in an independent and structured manner, take on challenges and ownership, translate ideas into actions and to deliver required outputs within agreed deadlines. 

Relational and adaptable to easily establish contacts and build relationships of trust with external parties as well as with persons from within the organisation.   

Team player who contributes to a common objective and who can work closely with colleagues from the same and other cells within the company.  

Good communicator and clear presenter who can bring messages across to others.  

Professional in representing the company to the outside world, thereby reflecting loyalty to its brands and values.  


For the right candidate this position offers the opportunity to grow and develop within an international organization. The Business Development Manager Europe reports to the Managing Director with dotted line to the President of the Group, and will work from the company’s European headquarters that are based south of Brussels, Belgium, whilst travelling around Europe on a regular basis.
